An example of TB18titanium alloy
TB18 (Ti-5Al-4Mo-5V-6Cr-1Nb) is a new β-type titanium alloy with high strength, high toughness, and excellent structural efficiency. Traditionally, it is produced using multiple raw materials including aluminum pellets, MoAl (65:35), VAl (85:15), metallic chromium, NbAl (60:40), and titanium sponge. With customized master alloys, the raw materials are simplified to MoVAlCr (25:25:22:28), NbAl (60:40), and titanium sponge, streamlining the preparation process, reducing process-control variables, lowering the risk of impurity introduction, improving the quality of the titanium alloy, and reducing production costs.
